What is Arbitration?

Unlike mediation, in which the parties control the outcome, arbitration involves a neutral third party who takes on a role like that of a judge, and issues a written ruling which is binding on the parties. Unlike a court hearing, arbitration is often informal. Some arbitrators prefer using courtrooms, however, at Tori White Legal Group, we know that comfort plays an important role in dispute resolution. Our arbitrations often take place in conference rooms or web conferences, ensuring that all parties are comfortable with the process.

If your mediation resulted in a partial settlement of the issues, the unresolved issues are left to a judge to decide. With court calendars becoming increasingly full and cases backed up, arbitration can often occur much quicker than a court hearing with a judge.

Whether you have an open case or not, if mediation has not provided a full resolution to your family law dispute, consider the arbitration services of Tori White Legal Group.
