What is Mediation?

Mediation is a confidential process that includes a neutral third party (“Mediator”) who does not judge the case, nor decide the outcome of the issues presented. Instead, the Mediator facilitates discussion to assist the parties in reaching a final resolution to their dispute. Tori White Legal Group not only specializes in family law disputes, including those with domestic violence, but provides mediation services for all types of civil cases.

In mediation, the parties control the outcome of their case.

The Mediator simply facilitates the negotiation process and helps the parties to focus on the issues of the dispute. The Mediator helps each party to think about their interests and how to best meet them, while taking into consideration the interests of the other party.

Mediation is a less hostile and less confrontational method of resolving disputes. While mediation is required by the courts in some types of cases, it is often the quickest and least expensive way to handle all types of disputes. Before beginning or advancing your litigation to trial, talk to your attorney to see if mediation is right for your legal dispute.
